Italian bistro Chucs is known for delicious food, artfully crafted cocktails, extra friendly service and for making one of the best coffees in town. These are just a few of the many things we love about Chucs, read on to discover all the other reasons to make a reservation on your next visit to Belgravia.

Location

Belgravia is home to the Chucs flagship, handily located a short walk from Sloane Square tube station and Victoria train and coach stations. In a prime position on the corner of Eccleston Street, and in striking distance of plenty of fabulous shops and salons, for those looking to enjoy some local retail therapy or get ready for a night out.

For facials and blow-dries, Dr. David Jack’s medispa and Adem’s hairdresser are just over the road. Not to mention the delights of Elizabeth Street just a few minutes walk away, with new openings like Cefinn and Penelope Chilvers to explore.

The menu at Chucs

The menu at the all-day dining destination is inspired by Italy with French influences, cherry picking the best of each. The elite lunch order is the chopped Cobb salad with a side of fries - always a winner on Instagram with its colourful presentation. Equally strong is the iconic cacio e pepe pasta plate, elevated further by a crisp glass of white wine.

Other Italian hero dishes include the lobster linguine, truffle pizza and porcini risotto, to name just a few of the delicious choices on offer. Three crowd-pleasing ‘Chucs classics’ that are always on (and stand the test of time) are the club sandwich, smash burger and croque monsieur made with Tamworth ham.

New for autumn are Chucs' truffle dishes, including cauliflower soup, truffle arancini, truffle pizza and baked gnocchi with wild mushrooms, gorgonzola and truffle.

For those with a sweet tooth, fear not! On the Italian side, there is a divine tiramisu which isn’t to be missed, and a classic French crème brulée. Don’t be tempted to share on date night; you’ll want one each.

Brunch at Chucs

Deserving of a mention in its own right, weekend brunching is a big thing, and Chucs does not disappoint. All the gang are there, from poached eggs and smashed avocado on sourdough to a healthy chia seed bowl with fresh fruit, or a fully loaded veggie English breakfast. We love that the free-range eggs are sourced from Clarence Court, known for their bright orange yolks and happy hens.

Drinks

From coffee to cocktails, there are drinks for every time of day at Chucs. The 120 bin wine list naturally leans towards old world bottles from France and Italy, with a decent selection available by the glass; from prosecco and champagne to pale Provencal rose and of course some serious Burgundy and Tuscany players.

Alfresco dining at Chucs

Occupying an enviable corner spot affords Chucs not one but two outdoor seating areas, both screened by green planters. Café culture at its finest, there’s nothing better than enjoying a drink or meal al fresco on a blue sky day. Best of all it’s dog-friendly, so handsome hounds are welcome too.

Decor

Think cool and contemporary but with warming woods and cosy textures. Interiors at the 55-cover restaurant are by designers Fettle Studios. The standout feature is a central wooden bar with a backlit onyx counter, complete with oversized brass pendants hanging above.

Vibes

We love that everyone feels welcome here, whether you’re meeting a colleague for a coffee, having a speedy solo lunch, dining with young children or throwing a birthday bash in the private dining room, the atmosphere is always buzzy and service is with a smile.

Private dining at Chucs

Whether it’s an office party, milestone birthday or whatever the excuse for a get together, Chucs can accommodate groups comfortably in a dedicated private dining space. Seating 10 behind a heavy velvet curtain, choose from a set menu or create something completely bespoke with the chef and events team. Included in the service are personalised printed menus and place cards, adding a touch of elegance to the occasion.

For bigger parties the whole restaurant is available for exclusive takeover, meaning a sit down meal for 40 or standing reception for 70 lucky guests.

It's popular on Instagram

The slow motion burrata pull is always a hit on Instagram, and this autumn that much-loved creamy cheese is served seasonally at Chucs with figs, honey and balsamic. A seasonal change from summer’s multicoloured iteration made with fresh green pesto and colour-popping datterini tomatoes.
