Enjoy the festive season with a Christmas break in London

The Lanesborough

interior with christmas tree

The stunning Lanesborough is sure to be a magical home away from home this December, with the hotel’s Christmas in Residence package. Spanning three nights from Christmas Eve, lucky guests will have a personal butler on hand to help with last-minute present wrapping. On Christmas Day little ones will receive a Lanesborough stocking, before the main event - a five-course lunch in the grand surroundings of the The Grill restaurant (plus a visit from Santa for those who’ve been extra nice). On Boxing Day, a chauffeur-driven car will be available to whisk shoppers to the sales, if, of course, they can prise themselves away from the sheer bliss of the Lanesborough Club & Spa.

The Peninsula

One for the foodies, The Peninsula’s prestigious Brooklands restaurant by Claude Bosi earned an impressive two Michelin stars within months of opening earlier this year. Admire the bright lights of Winter Wonderland from the Brooklands bar, which boasts stunning views from the 8th floor. For those who want to escape the turkey and twinkling lights altogether, the hotel’s Canton Blue restaurant is the perfect escape for crispy duck and dim sum.

The Hari

Local institution The Hari will be embracing a gold theme when it comes to Christmas sparkles inside the hotel, with a nature-inspired winter forest to draw the outdoors in. In-house restaurant Il Pampero will have two festive set menus to choose from, both typically Italian with the likes of wild boar ragù and tiramisu in place of turkey and figgy pudding. Don’t forget to post a letter to Father Christmas in the red post box outside the hotel.

The Lime Tree Hotel

For combining style and great value, The Lime Tree Hotel on the corner of Ebury Street ticks both boxes. The hotel’s Buttery café has one of the best brunches in town, plus a beautiful hidden garden for enjoying a hot toddy or mulled wine. The townhouse has just 26 bedrooms, ticking all our boutique boxes, and is perfectly positioned for last minute Christmas shopping on Elizabeth Street

The Orange

Interior

An 18th-century, Grade II-listed former brewery and coffee house, The Orange on Pimlico Road reopened earlier this year after a complete restoration using neighbouring artisans like Soane Britain, And Objects and Edward Bulmer. With drinking and dining spaces spanning four characterful floors, plus four equally charming boutique bedrooms, the pub is the perfect place to enjoy the bright lights of London this December.

Jumeirah Carlton Tower

In past years, local school choirs have been known to sing carols in the lobby of the Carlton Tower, to the delight of visitors. Whilst we can’t promise carollers bringing tidings of comfort and joy, one way to certainly get into the Christmas spirit is with the hotel’s delightfully festive afternoon tea. Served in the Chinoiserie lounge, the Heart of Christmas tea is inspired by Highgrove House and His Majesty King Charles.

COMO The Halkin

A healthy dose of Christmas cheer is on the cards for those booking a party at COMO The Halkin this December. The hotel has two private event spaces, and offers free-flowing drinks packages with Taittinger champagne. In the name of balance, those booking a room at the boutique hotel can work off that turkey and unlimited fizz, with in-room yoga mats provided as standard.

Jumeirah Lowndes

The little sister to nearby Carlton Tower, the Jumeirah Lowndes has plenty to offer weekend merrymakers, with extra personalised service and, excitingly, a brand new restaurant. Parkers, an all-day concept from Dubai, serves comfort food with a playful twist like crispy shrimp with spicy toffee sauce. Head here for a staycation if you have a handsome hound in tow, as dogs are welcomed too.

The Goring

It’s champagne on arrival for all guests checking into The Goring this Christmas. The smart hotel is still family-run and can be relied upon to put on a quintessentially English Christmas experience, with all the traditional trimmings. This year Christmas lunch and dinner will be served in the newly relaunched Dining Room restaurant, with opulent interiors setting the tone for an extra special time of year.

The Emory

The newly opened, all-suite hotel The Emory is the ultimate address when it comes to ultra exclusive privacy and next-level luxury. With truffle pizza galore at abc kitchens - the hot new restaurant by chef Jean-Georges - deciding where to eat won’t be a problem. For stunning panoramic views head up to the cigar lounge on the roof, accessible only to in-house guests. Or hit down on the lift button to go deeper underground, and embrace the warmth and wellness of the heavenly Surrenne spa.
