Pétrus by Gordon Ramsay

An extra special occasion calls for an elevated dining experience, and happily that’s exactly what you’ll get at Gordon Ramsay’s Michelin-starred Pétrus, which is less than 10 minutes on foot from Harrods. The celebrity chef’s Kinnerton Street restaurant is a modern French take on fine dining, using the best of British produce, with a long-held Michelin star above the door. Foodies can opt to dine a la carte or settle in for the discovery tasting menu, which can be served with not one but three different paired wine flights, to impress even the most discerning of oenophiles.

The Alfred Tennyson

Popular gastropub The Alfred Tennyson, named after English poet Lord Tennyson who lived in Belgravia in 1880, is one of three local public houses owned by the trendy Cubitt House group (sister sites The Thomas Cubitt and The Orange can be found on Elizabeth Street and Pimlico Road respectively). The vibe at this Georgian townhouse is always buzzy, whether it’s a full house for weekday lunch service, after work drinks or a proper Sunday roast with all the trimmings. It’s also the place for sports lovers to get their match fix, from rugby to football, The Alfie can be relied upon to screen all the important fixtures.

Sachi at The Pantechnicon

Guess who’s back? Fans of Japanese restaurant and bar Sachi will be counting down the days until it reopens in September when it will have moved, albeit strictly vertically, to a new floor at the very top of the historic Pantechnicon building. The new layout means Sachi guests can enjoy stunning views with their sushi and saké over Motcomb Street and beyond; plus a rare and highly coveted draw for any city location - a rooftop suntrap where the light hits just right at golden hour.

The Wilton Arms

Spoilt for choice is an excellent problem to have when looking for refreshments after an afternoon of retail therapy. For true authenticity, experience a traditional British pub with a pint - or if preferred a glass of Pinot - at The Wilton Arms, which can be found on the oh-so charming Kinnerton Street. It’s another family-run situation here, and it’s not all ales and craft beers, there is a hearty food offering to get stuck into alongside a sizeable wine list.
