Studio Pottery London - based in Victoria, Central London - has partnered with neighbouring wellness studio Re:Mind and LondonCryo to offer a new year ‘reset’ experience designed to help benefit both mental & physical health. A curated morning programme of slow craft, sound healing and full body cryotherapy, the experience - which takes place all within Eccleston Yards - has been designed to encourage both a psychological and physical cleanse, a chance to reset and rebuild for the year ahead.

The Experience

+ Sound Healing with Re:Mind: One of Re:Mind’s most spiritual sound classes, this Crystal Bowls session is specifically tailored for those who crave 'me time', offering participants an opportunity to connect more deeply with who they are. An introductory, guided meditation session prepares both mind and body, and is followed by a harmonising sounds session using Crystal Tones alchemy bowls. These bowls are made from 99.99% pure crystal quartz and blended with precious metals, crystals and gemstones.

One of the lesser-known but scientifically-backed benefits of this Crystal Bowls class lies in its impact on brain wave activity. Typically, our brains operate at higher-frequency Beta waves during wakeful consciousness, which is often associated with stress and anxiety. The sounds and frequencies produced during the session promote a shift from these Beta waves to Alpha and Theta waves. Alpha waves are linked with relaxed awareness and creativity, while Theta waves are associated with deep meditation, mental clarity, and reduced anxiety. This shift in brain wave activity augments the healing process, facilitating a deeper state of relaxation and well-being.

Participants will reap a multitude of benefits, including improved mood and deep relaxation, and will leave feeling like a great weight has been lifted, with a sense of peace and clarity.

+ Pottery with Studio Pottery London: Many of those who work with clay highlight the numerous psychological benefits of throwing pottery by hand, from helping to relieve anxiety, stress and tension, to building self-confidence and expression through the physical act of making. In this guided introductory group session, each participant will get a feel for working with clay on their own pottery wheel, a pra tice known as ‘throwing’. With expert tutelage, guests will learn how to wedge - prepare the clay - as well as centre - secure the clay on the wheel - and throw - pull up the walls of the clay into a cylinder. Participants will throw their own pot to be glazed and fired. An imme sive, calming creative session in Studio Pottery London’s beautiful studio space, participants will experience the joy of working with clay by hand and develop life-long skills that can be honed and perfected through continued practice.

+ Whole Body Cryotherapy with LondonCryo: In this two minute micro-session, the body is exposed to sub-zero temperatures in a state-of-the-art cryotherapy cabin. A pulsating mist tricks the body into fight or flight mode, forcing blood to rush to the core in order to protect internal organs. As a result the body increases its oxygen levels and triggers the release of norepinephrine, endorphins and anti inflammatory proteins during the process. Adrenaline-pumping, this therapy releases a rush of feel-good endorphins and also banishes muscle pain like no other.
