Studio Pottery Presents: Izzy Letty Talk and Demonstration
Acclaimed British potter and rising name Izzy Letty will be hosting a special exhibition – ‘Some Kind of Balance’ at Studio Pottery London. With a new series of statement one-off ceramics that will explore oversized scale and form, this is an opportunity to discover more about Izzy’s journey into the world of ceramics and how she plans to evolve her collection.
To coincide with London Design Festival 2023 – Izzy will be hosting a special exhibition and demonstration evening at Studio Pottery London to showcase a new series of designs that take her work to a new level. “I’m known best for my functional tableware pieces but I’ve recently been exploring the tipping point between functional and sculptural pots,” says Izzy. “For this exhibition I’ve pushed the boundaries of my pedestal collection – pieces inspired by ancient Chinese stem bowls – creating pots with varying silhouettes and scale, unconstrained by the rigour of production throwing. Each piece is individual in character, but creates something new when grouped together.”
The demonstration evening at Studio Pottery London will take place on Thursday 21 September for enthusiasts and fellow potters, where she will be throwing some of these new designs at the wheel as well as discussing her own career experiences.
