Cocktail of the month
Little is known about the historical origin of the Paloma. Some believe that it is named after La Paloma (“The Dove”), the popular folk song composed in the early 1860s. Diffords guide claims it was created by the legendary Don Javier Delgado Corona, owner and bartender of La Capilla, in Tequila, Mexico.
One thing's for sure, the most popular tequila-based cocktail in Mexico is a main stay amongst all the best mixologists right now and Motcombs is delighted to bring it to you. Sweet, sour, salty and delicious, this one refreshes and hits all the right notes.
Wine of the month
Chateau Talbot is one of the oldest estates in the Medoc region of Bordeaux and has a colourful past, including being named after Sir John Talbot, the Earl of Shrewsbury in the 15th century!
Offering up aromas of dark berries, baking chocolate, plums, espresso roast and crushed mint, the 2015 Talbot is medium to full-bodied, deep and fleshy, with a rich but lively core of fruit, powdery tannins and a long, penetrating finish.
A fantastic companion for a wonderful evening.
