Naturally after an absolutely fabulous spot of retail therapy at the iconic Knightsbridge flagship, stylish shoppers need somewhere equally fab to dine out. Here are our favourite local lunch and dinner spots in Belgravia, all just a short walk from Harvey Nicks.

Brooklands by Claude Bosi

French chef Claude Bosi understood the assignment when he opened Brooklands at the five-star Peninsula hotel in 2023. Mere months after launching, the famously Anglophile chef was awarded not one - but two - Michelin stars for the motoring and aviation-themed restaurant, which offers classically French fine dining using the very best of British suppliers. The Archer Humphryes-designed space has some of the best panoramic views in town, on both the bar and restaurant side, not to mention a sizeable wraparound terrace and decadent cigar lounge.

Pétrus by Gordon Ramsay

An oldie but a goodie, isn’t exactly how we’d describe power player Gordon Ramsay, but as descriptors go for his chic restaurant Pétrus, it’s pretty apt. The Michelin-starred stalwart has been a go-to destination on Kinnerton Street for foodies for many years, and deservedly so. Boasting a Michelin star to prove it, Pétrus is the place to make a reservation for an extra special celebration. Bonus points if you score a seat at the Chef’s Table in the kitchen, the hottest seat - quite literally - in the house.

Amélie at Pantechnicon

The former Pantechnicon building, soon to be known simply as 19 Motcomb Street, has undergone a swift refurbishment over the summer. At the end of September the historic building, which launched with a Nordic-Japanese dining and shopping concept, will add French restaurant Amélie to its impressive gastronomic repertoire. With Japanese Sachi having moved up to the top floor, Amélie will take pride of place on the ground, bringing a ray of South of France joie de vivre and plenty of tasseled parasols to a 50-cover terrace. Eager diners can expect a Provençal-inspired menu from former Annabel’s chef Steve Raveneau, with a carefully curated caviar menu as the cherry on top.

Amaya Grill

This October, Amaya celebrates an incredible milestone 20th anniversary, having opened in Belgravia back in 2004 under the visionary stewardship of sisters Camellia and Namita Panjabi. The Indian fine dining establishment was pioneering in the way it served Indian food in London at the time, and it’s no surprise the revolutionary restaurant has retained a Michelin star since 2006. The interiors recently had a refresh but happily the restaurant’s open kitchen remains, allowing customers a peek at the three ovens - tandoor, charcoal grill and tawa griddle - that are used to cook signature plates like tandoori prawns and black pepper chicken tikka.

The Lanesborough Grill

There is something for everyone when dining at The Lanesborough hotel’s gorgeous Grill restaurant. Whether that’s head chef Shay Cooper’s traditional Sunday roasts of Hereford beef, Dover sole or salt marsh lamb, a seasonal two-course set lunch menu or a one night only special such as the upcoming wine pairing dinner with champagne house Krug. Afternoon tea can also be taken in the elegant surroundings of The Grill, often with a twist like the recent Bridgerton-themed tea offering. Cat lovers should keep an eye out for Lilibet, the resident feline friend who roams the hotel’s smart corridors.

Salloos

Family-run Salloos is a Belgravia institution, having been feeding locals and visitors with authentic Pakistani-North Indian fusion on hidden gem Kinnerton Street since 1976. Specialties include tandoori lamb chops, chicken karahi served in an iron wok and raan masala - a slow roasted whole leg of marinated lamb best shared with friends.

The Wilton Arms

Another Kinnerton Street gem, The Wilton Arms is a family-run gastropub where punters can pop in at any time of day for a pint, or a tasty bite to eat. Whether that’s the full three courses from the a la carte menu, a healthy Buddah bowl for brunch or a traditional Sunday roast with all the trimmings. The emphasis is on quality ingredients sourced as locally as possible, along with a wine list that centres on predominantly French winemakers - spanning an affordable £31 a bottle to blow-the-budget bubbles priced at £130.
